The Eid Al-Adha Kanduri, a thanksgiving feast celebrated by the Muslim community, was held yesterday at the Blue Gym in Barangay Luinab, Iligan City. The event was graced by the presence of Mayor Frederick W. Siao, PNP Iligan City Director Pcol Reinante B Delos Santos and DILG Iligan City Director Maria Maida Daniot, alongside Muslim community leaders headed by Deputy Amando Mansumayan and Barangay Dulag Punong Barangay Norsia L. Diyacat.

The celebration saw a large turnout from Muslim communities across various barangays of Iligan City, with a significant representation from the hinterland areas. Esteemed Muslim Imams led the religious observances and community prayers, adding to the spiritual significance of the event.

In her message, Director Daniot underscored the importance of unity and cooperation among the communities. She highlighted the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) initiatives carried out by the DILG in some of the hinterland barangays. These programs aim to foster development and enhance the quality of life in these areas by addressing local needs and strengthening community ties.
